Of Pull Ups, Childhood Obesity Prevention, and the Future of Democracy in the USA

Recently I saw a docudrama film in which an extraordinary old British gent contended that democracy is still the most revolutionist conception that the human race have ever encountered. He proceeded to detect that despotic authorities pull strings and control their people by keeping them fearful, demoralized, and in debt.

Than he added, "Demoralized people don't vote, they don't take duty for themselves, and they don't keep their right to a political democracy," he said. "You see it takes strong, healthy, resilient, ego reliant, and ego confident people to constitute and to keep a democracy. Strong people are much harder to command than demoralised people." I establish myself wanting to stand up up in the audience in order to shout YES!!!!

OPYOW and Rugged Individualism

In that visible light I'd wish to do the followers remarks about Operation Pull Your Own Weight, a programme primarily focused on childhood fleshiness prevention, and on developing strong, resilient, ego reliant on children who decline to imbibe from the mass produced, conventional fountains of indoctrination. Above all else, these children believe for themselves.

There are those who have got embraced OPYOW because of its ruggedly individualistic connotations, and I don't deny that rugged individuality is portion of its appeal. We actively clap strength, resilience, self-reliance, and personal duty taking behaviors. They are cardinal constituents of being human in the fullest sense.

Social Darwinism volts Enlightened Self Interest

On the other hand, OPYOW is actively opposed to Sociable Darwinism, a theory that endorses a ego centered, me first, to Hell with you, endurance of the fittest orientation to human existence. That may be portion of American folklore, but in existent life, ego centered individuality all by itself is psychologically alienating and socially counterproductive.

Instead OPYOW prefers enlightened ego interest, a conception that takes the place "what's good for my household is good for me. And what's good for my vicinity is good for my family. And what's good for my city, county, state, nation, world, is good for my neighborhood, my family, and me." Inch the words of some wise old adult male somewhere, "We're all in this together." Failing to understand and to move according to the principal of enlightened ego involvement undermines democracy.

OPYOW Salutes…

So makes OPYOW salutation rugged people who can fend for themselves, their family, their friends, and maybe even their city, state, nation, world? Absolutely! Bashes OPYOW salutation rugged people who decline the enticement of conventional kool-aid and believe for themselves? Without a doubt! And makes OPYOW salutation rugged people who utilize their strength to assist beef up others and assist them to go confident, ego reliant, yet also humble, mutually respectful, and therefore fully human? Yeseree Bob.

Egalitarianism, common respect, quiet ego confidence, and enlightened ego involvement are at the bosom of democracy and Operation Pull Your Own Weight. Hats off to both.
